Heal ElectroniX

Heal ElectroniX is an electronics repair laboratory in Geneva, founded in 2020, that repairs devices at board level: micro-soldering, connectors, liquid damage and data recovery. We designed and built helectronix.com, a site that explains board-level repair to people who were told to buy a new device, and turns their breakdown into a structured diagnostic request.

The challenge

Most people have never heard of micro-soldering. When a phone stops charging or a laptop will not start, the usual answer is a replacement, and the customer assumes nothing else can be done. The site had to show, without jargon, that the fault often sits on one component, one connector or one cracked trace.

It also had to sort requests. The lab promises a diagnostic before any quote, and that works best when it knows the device, the symptoms and their history before the device arrives.

What we built

The home page carries an animated circuit board. A signal leaves the USB-C connector and stops at a cracked trace, a probe on test point TP4 reads 0.00 V, a repair wire is soldered across the crack and the reading becomes 3.30 V. In a few seconds the visitor sees what diagnose, repair and restore mean on a real board. A table then lists seven symptoms and what the lab checks first for each.

The diagnostic request is a six-step form: the device, the problems (several can be ticked), since when, the current state and whether the data matters, up to three photos, then contact details. Photos are reduced to 2000 px in the browser before they are sent, with an 8 MB limit, and Netlify Forms handles the submissions with a trap field against spam bots.

The site runs on Next.js, hosted on Netlify. There is one page per service and per type of device, six guides that answer what people search before a repair, an FAQ, a page about the workshop and its founder, and a repairs page built on a fixed four-photo protocol: the device on arrival, the fault under the microscope, the work on the board, the result after testing. Structured data describes the business, its founder and the area it serves.
